Antonio Molina, D.D.S., knew that when he was 13 years old, he would become a dentist. He knew he was good with his hands, and being the only child of Cuban immigrants born in New Jersey, his parents instilled in him the drive to work towards a professional vocation-attorney, doctor, accounting, something in that vein. His family relocated to Miami when Dr. Molina was five years old because he was asthmatic and they surmised the change in weather would suit him favorably.
Dr. Molina adapted well to Miami and attended Christopher Columbus Senior High School in Miami. He became a passionate basketball enthusiast and earned a spot on the Explorers varsity team.Dr. Molina went on to graduate from Columbus and then attended the University of Miami as a religion major with a minor in chemistry. He attained his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and was accepted by the prestigious dental program at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. It could not have been better timing to become a Hoya for this rabid basketball fan, as Patrick Ewing was entering his last year under then coach John Thompson and the Hoya program was in its glory years.
Dr. Molina moved back to Miami and embarked on his career in dentistry. He is now a father of four children and resides in Coral Gables. His dental practice located in the L'Esplanade Plaza on Key Biscayne features a team of assistants who have helped build Dr. Molina's reputation as an expert in the exploding field of aesthetic dentistry. Aesthetic dentistry focuses on the analysis and creation of smiles using a number of pain-free techniques ranging from whitening and straightening to veneers and inlays. Dr. Molina typically puts clients through a "smile analysis", an in-depth 45-minute evaluation of the anatomy of a smile. Everything from the alignment of the jaw to the position of the lips is thoroughly scrutinized. Clients are presented with photographs that show how their appearance could change using some of the procedures Dr. Molina has perfected. Dr. Molina is a member of the American Dental Association and is in the process of going through accreditation to establish a South Florida chapter of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. When he is not busy with his dental practice, Dr. Molina coaches his son's neighborhood basketball team. |
